World deserts and dry areas are home to the most interesting plants. Canarius offers an increasing selection of succulent plants of maximum quality, because they are grown outdoors, under the full sun of the Canary Islands.
Succulents or "fat plants" are water-retaining species, adapted to dry conditions. They store succum (juice, water) in their leaves, stems or roots, and often show a stout and fleshy appearance.
Exotic plants are species from other parts of the world, and they usually have ornamental qualities: a lush foliage, colorful flowers, unusual shapes... Here you can find a great variety of exotic plants: from Bromeliads and Heliconias, to pamls and houseplants.
Exotic plants do not have a particular use. Collectors buy this kind of plants for their rarity, for indoor or outdoor decoration, depending on their features.

Hard to find shrub native to the Dominican Republic. It bears lots of outstanding, scented, cream-coloured trumpets. Leaves are glossy. It resists to harsh conditions.
Curcuma caesia, black turmeric or black zedoary, is a perennial herb with bluish-black rhizomes that is native to northeast India.
Turmeric is a basic spice in Asian cuisine, used as a food dye in the whole world. A bit of turmeric added to any dish will prevent arthrosis and many other health problems.
Both ornamental and useful, white turmeric is a deciduous ginger. It starts growth in April-June, with a very showy pink-white inflorescence, shooting up from the ground.
Edentata is one of the most beautiful of the coastal Asian cycads. Leaves are glossy, with golden prominent veins. Leaf bases and young stems are coated with a reddish-golden "fur". It is quite fast and easy to grow and just as hardy as the typical rumphii-circinalis.

h= 40-50 cm. 5-7 cm base. Australian Cycas with showy glossy foliage. It is the southernmost species of Cycas, found at 26°S in southeast Queensland. It can stand light, occasional frosts.

Cycas revoluta is a slow-growing, evergreen palm-like plant with an erect main stem that is usually around 0.5 - 2 metres tall, often with few basal branches, but sometimes aerially branched.
H = 80-120 cm. Base = 8-10 cm. New Chinese species described in 2006 from cool mountain forests between 700 and 800 m (2300 and 2600 ft) near the city of Shanya, on the island of Hainan.
This is a second generation (F2) cross of Cycas debaoensis and C. revoluta. This means that all our seedlings are not an exact mix of the two species as it was in the first generation F1.
Vranja' is possibly the best known cultivar of Quince and it has gained the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
The stoutest of its genus, this robust "mesemb" has large finger-like leaves pointing out and very large white-yellow flowers in Spring, about 5 cm in diameter.
Green climbing stems, often streaked and dotted with silvery wax. It bears beautiful flowers, lime yellow with a pure white centre. This "caustic vine" is native to Madagascar and its former name was Cynanchum decaisneanum.
Fascinating hanging plant from Madagascar. Stems are rough and thin. New branches are green and they get browner as the grow. Its beautiful flowers resemble small green Chinese lanterns.
