Apple bananas are among the best of all bananas. Small sweet fruits of excellent quality,  with a flavour truly reminiscent of an apple. Plants endure full sun and wind. It achieves a variable size of 3,5-6 m (10-18 ft) according to local conditions.

This cultivar is the true Manzano (Cuba) or Latundan (Philippines),  Apple Banana, Silk Banana, or Pisang raja. It tipically shows pinkish pseudostems and leaf stalks, tolerant of soils with higher pH, producing abundant suckers.

It takes cold better than a common Cavendish banana but fruits can be lost in cool weather. It can still be tried outdoors by the warmer coasts of the Mediterranean.

What do we ship?

We ship a stout rooted sucker, not a potted plant. Your will receive it with the corm wrapped in a bag with moist sphagnum or perlite.

In spring, suckers may not have roots. In this case, suckers are easy to root if temperatures are kept between 20 and 30 C.
