Artocarpus heterophyllus is tolerant of short light frosts and can be tried outdoors in the warmer coastal Mediterranean, with some protection.

It becomes a huge tree but it can be kept small. It can fruit early in life, after 2-4 years, at about 2 m in height.

Grafted plants can also fruit in large pots as they can be kept small.
