World deserts and dry areas are home to the most interesting plants. Canarius offers an increasing selection of succulent plants of maximum quality, because they are grown outdoors, under the full sun of the Canary Islands.
Succulents or "fat plants" are water-retaining species, adapted to dry conditions. They store succum (juice, water) in their leaves, stems or roots, and often show a stout and fleshy appearance.
Exotic plants are species from other parts of the world, and they usually have ornamental qualities: a lush foliage, colorful flowers, unusual shapes... Here you can find a great variety of exotic plants: from Bromeliads and Heliconias, to pamls and houseplants.
Exotic plants do not have a particular use. Collectors buy this kind of plants for their rarity, for indoor or outdoor decoration, depending on their features.

This small scrambling shrub has glossy attractive leaves, used as a popular herb in SE Asia. It is popular in Thailand, where leaves are used as starters, to wrap up bits of different food. The peppery flavour is not really spicy and after a while it is loved by most people.
Tall, terrestrial bromeliads with sword like spineless leaves, producing tall spikes of red flowers. It is a good garden plant for mixed borders. It can grow in a 16 cm pot and bear 1 m tall spikes !
This tree in the legume family grows to 5-15 m in height. It bears fruits with an edible pulp and it is used medicinally and as a shade tree. It is easy to grow, with elegant foliage and moderately spiny branches.

This is a beautiful variegated selection of a popular aromatic plant, used much like oreganon. It grows as a creeping shrublet, up to 30-50 cm tall. The blue flowers are also a nice addition to a beautiful species.

8-12 cm rooted cutting. Rare Plectranthus from Somalia, described in 1929. It has a thick succulent stem and rounded, velvety leaves. The blue flowers are held on unusually long petioles.

It bears fleshy leaves, just 1-2 cm long, green with a silvery bloom on the upper surface, sculptured with raised veins on the convex lower surface. It bears beautiful purple-blue spikes of flowers.

Pygmy bamboo is one of the smallest bamboos, and its leaves are also very small. It will quickly form a very nice carpet in the garden. It is one of the best of the dwarf bamboos for use as a bonsai. This species is similar to Pleioblastus distichus, but its leaves do not display the fern-like leaf grouping.
