The fragrant flowers are beautifully coloured. Passiflora alata is a beauty among passion flowers because of the fragrant pendant flowers. They have impressive dark red sepals and a corona with white and purple banding.

Passiflora alata has four angled winged stem and is closely related to Passiflora quadrangularis.

Cultivation of Passiflora alata is easy. Two to three years are needed for fruit production.
