Creeping, fast growing succulent plant with bright pink flowers in summer. This hybrid originated by a cross of Aptenia cordifolia (purple flowers) x A. haeckeliana (yellow flowers), both from South Africa. It is called Aptenia 'Red Apple' in the USA.

This Aptenia is the perfect groundcover for gardens in coastal mediterranean climates. Leaves are edible as greens for a salad, especially when the plant is actively growing and the leaves are larger and tender.
