This is the most beautiful and least known species in the genus Glottiphyllum. Few collectors grow it and no pictures in the web show the beauty of well-grown plants. Their shape is very attractive but their colour can be marvelous when full sun makes them show out some spectacular reds and yellows. It is very closely related to Glottiphyllum peersii. This plant comes from material collected South of Steytlerville, in the Eastern Cape, in South Africa
