Beautiful and unusual-looking bromeliad with upright tubular rosettes. Leaves are stiff and succulent, reen-grey, marbled with white-to-purple spots. In this typical form, leaves flare out at the tip of the straight pipe. Quesnelia marmorata is neglect-tolerant and slow growing. New rosettes grow on thick stolons and the whole plant does best mounted on a trunk than in a pot, where stolons would often hit the borders of the pot. Its bright pink inflorescences are a spectacular addition, but they last only one or few weeks.
