Phoenix theophrastii is a frost-hardy European palm, native to the Greek island of Crete and southern Turkey. It is a "wild date palm", so it looks similar to the domestic date palm, while its leaves are more silvery, fruits smaller and with a better resistance to cold, and even wet cold. It survives frosts of -12 to -15 C, depending on its size, health and on local conditions.
Fruits are edible too but not as good as true dates.
We ship a young palm in a 14-16 cm pot, usually with pinnate leaves, 40-80 cm tall
