Large feather palm with a spectacular red new leaf, which stays red for up to 10 days. It is native to the forests of New Caledonia, where it occurs from sea level to over 1.000 m. Chambeyronia macrocarpa has a smooth, ringed tall trunk and bold leaves with wide, thick, glossy segments. The red leaf palm is an exciting recent addition to subtropical gardening and seeds are still not easy to obtain. Chambeyronia tolerates cool and wet conditions and light frosts. It thrives outdoors in Mediterranean conditions. It can also be grown indoors as a house plant but it can be slow.

We offer a potted palm of about 2-3 years of age from seed.
