Agave guiengola is one of the most beautiful and different of all agaves, because of its elegant crown made of few very thick leaves, with regularly spaced dark spines. This albo-marginated cultivar is supreme and has an all-American story. It was spotted by Kelly Griffin, a well-.known Californian expert and grower. He passed it as Agave guiengola 'Marginata' to Tony Avent of Plant Delights Nursery, but he had to rename it and chose this name 'Creme brulee'. He only knows which is the link with the French dessert crème brûlée! This Agave can take light frosts to -3 C but it is a tropical species from Oaxaca and will enjoy warm to hot weather with no extreme conditions.
