Sansevieria masoniana  was previously known as “S. sp.Mason Congo” it is a striking plant with extra large, leathery, oval leaves, up to 1m. tall, 25cm. wide. Single or paired leaves rise from a thick, underground rhizome. They are deep green, splashed with light green, round blotches. This species needs plenty of room to properly develop its huge, paddle like leaves. As suggested by its old name, it comes from Congo, and therefore should be treated as a  tropical plant. When cultivated in full light the leaves tend to grow shorter and rounded as a tea saucer.
