Outstanding heliconia with ornamental foliage and dense, upright habit. Most heliconias are from tropical America and only a handful of them is from the Pacific islands. Heliconia indica is one of them and 'Striata' is a supreme striped clone, selected in ancient times somewhere in Melanesia. Heliconia indica 'Striata' seldom flowers and when it does bracts are greenish, not so attractive as leaves.

We usually ship a two eyed rhizome, as for all our heliconias, but rhizomes of this species are much weaker and shorter than in other heliconias so this species will be often be shipped with some leaves.
