The fruit, named Canistel, is very variable in form and size, round or ovoid, with or without a pointed tip. Pouteria campechiana fruits are yellow, smooth and glossy. The flesh is sweel, yellow and very dense. Each fruit has 1-4 large brown seeds. They ripen in summer and autumn.
