Very ornamental and colourful small clumping palm from SE Asia. Leaves and sheaths have different shades of green, mottled with yellow. The young new leaf is mottled in red-maroon. It flowers and fruits abundantly from a young age and it is a true show. Flowers are beautifullly packed, creamy white and fruits ripen irregularly with different colours, often mixing yellow, red and black. It is rather easy in cultivation, especially if we compare it with other pinanga species than need high humidity, good water quality, etc
