Very beautiful, climbing, simple-leaved philodendron with thick stalks and thick leaves. Philodendron glaziovii is native to the state of Río de Janeiro. Leaves are simple, dark green with a paler central vein. It is easy to grow as it takes a wide range of temperatures and it grows and bloms well in any condition as long as it is kept above frost. Inflorescences stand out with cream spathes with a bright red throat.

It is gorgeous in high light, when it gets to the adult stage and growth becomes very dense. At that point it looks like a non-compact creeping-climbing Philodendron martianum. This Philo has been grown for a long while in European collections, but it has never been spread through the mass trade so it is still a collector's item.
