Baby Rubber Plant. This peperomia is a bushy upright plant that is native to southern Florida and the Caribbean. As a houseplant, it typically grows on thick erect stems to 12î tall. Waxy, elliptic, thick dark green leaves (to 6î long). Small greenish-white flowers on spikes (to 5î long). Flowers are interesting but not particulary showy. Mexico to northern South America and West Indies. Low-maintenance houseplant for bright indirect light locations.

This species is perfectly adapted to indoor conditions and makes an excellent house plant. It will grow in any room with bright light and it is easy to mantain. It is also used in tropical greenhouse settings or in the terrarium, together with bromeliads and other indoor plants.
