Pelargonium polycephalum has succulent leaves, irregularly pinnatilobate, covered with microscopic hairs.  The stems can be up to 5 cm thick and are armed with spines, which are the remains of dry petioles. When leafless, it can be confused with Pelargonium paniculatum, which bulids similar spines. Wild plants will achieve sizes of 30-100 cm in diameter. Flowers are white to pink, organized in pseudo-umbels.
