Fantastic foliage shrub from Melanesia, with heart-shaped rounded leaves which are glossy, deep green, leathery and textured too! It is easy to keep in shape and size by cutting "canes" at any desired height. Macropiper latifolium is called the "false kava" for its resemblance to Piper methystichum, which is the kava used as a ceremonial drink in the Pacific islands. But this Macropiper is MUCH more beautiful than any true kava! It is easy to grow and it does not need a lot of heat in order to thrive.
