Latania lontaroides

This ornamental palm is native to the Mascarene Islands. They have stiff fan shaped leaves. Juvenile plants become very red during the cooler months! This show stops when they start trunking and get into the adult stage. They make excellent pot plants as they need little root space and they can stay in a larger pot for decades (!) so you can enjoy the red in winter for many years. They are very easy to grow in high light or sun, but they are frost sensitive.

We offer a tough plant grown in a 20 cm pot.
