Mrs. Garfield is an old hybrid made in the UK around 1880, between a Dutch Hippeastrum hybrid and the diminute H. reticulatum var. striatifolium. Leaves have a wide stripe in the center and other minor stripes around it. It has all the advantages of being a hybrid: it is evergreen and very easy to grow and to bloom. It is not cold-sensitive as its parent H.reticulatum, and blooms profusely in autumn.
