A fruit tree native to Brazil that produces large numbers of yellow fruits with edible arils that taste sweet and pleasantly sour and are said to have good anticancer properties. It is well known in Brazil as "bacupari" or "mangostão-amarelo" and is a very adaptable plant that will grow in any tropical or warm temperate climate and will even suffer an occasional light frost
