Showy Flowers; this type of flowers attract animals and makes possible the pollination. They are of essential importance in parks and gardens. The color makes them showier. The attractive of the Showy Flowers remains while the plant is alive and its beauty resides in its leaves that are brightly colored.
These flowers add beauty and color to the garden. You can find in our online store a variety of them such as: Clivia x Cyrtanthiflora, Convolvulus cneorum, Heliconia stricta 'Dwarf Jamaican' among others.
This very small form of Heliconia stricta is the most popular dwarf Heliconia: a favorite of all times because of its small stature and miniature blooms, with bright orange red-bracts. It is very easy to grow and fits well as a potted specimen in any small greenhouse, while it is also used in tropical landscaping, planted in beds.
Supreme bloomer for garden landscaping, pot-growing and cut flowers. This "bird of fire" is a very consistant bloomer with glossy erect red inflorescences of medium size. Each bract is enhanced with green and burgundy edges. The plant is small and flowers are produced at 1,2-1,7 m in height, which is both good for the eyes to watch and the hands to pick!
This ornamental hybrid that has it all: extended prolific blooming, cold-resistance, dwarf size, excellent as cut-flower. It was obtained by crossing Heliconia psittacorum x Heliconia spathocircinata 'Golden Torch Adrian'
Prolific, almost-everblooming Heliconia hybrid, with a bright yellow colour. It is quite short growing, about 100-150 cm cm tall and it is also hardy to short light frosts-
We selected this hybrid here in Tenerife. It is a particularly nice and hardy cross between Heliconia subulata and H. pendula, which are two cool-hardy species, good for the subtropics.
This is a robust old natural hybrid of Heliconia bihai and Heliconia caribaea. It has red and yellow blooms and grows to a height of 2-4 m. Easy growing, easy blooming. Inflorescences are truly beautiful, glossy, and long-lasting both on the plant and as a cut flower.
Rare hibiscus from the Indian Ocean. We offer the form with orange-red shiny flowers, which is native to Reunion Island. It is an easy to grow tall shrub with ascending branches. It takes wind and drought and some cold too!
Old, classic Hibiscus cultivar of unsurpassed beauty. Flowers are double, as a "flower within a flower" with lots of pink-orange shades.
Beautiful African Hibiscus with elegant drooping flowers with reflexed, "schizo" petals. It is an easy to grow shrub with ascending spreading branches. It is a tropical plant but it can be grown outdoors in the warmer coastal Mediterranean. Photo from Wikimedia Commons.
This wild Hippeastrum species builds large white-yellow flowers. The yellow colour is rare in this genus so this species has been used a lot to create new hybrids with some yellow.
This is a lovely small species from SE. Brazil with the most unusual leaves in the genus: these are dark green with a bright white central stripe. Then it bears "reticulate" pink coloured flowers. This is the true wild species, not one of the hybrids commonly found in the trade under this name.
Hippeastum striatum is easy to grow and bloom, since it requires no special dormancy. Flowers are not really large but they show out very well with a rich glitering red. This form is originally from the location named Saltao, in SE Brazil.
Mrs. Garfield is an old hybrid made in the UK around 1880, between a Dutch Hippeastrum hybrid and the diminute H. reticulatum var. striatifolium. It is different and resilient. it is also a classic... It is worth it!
Australian hoya found on rainforest margins and rocky areas, with white fragrant blooms. It is easy to grow and somehow cold-tolerant, even though it does better if protected from frost.
