This Gigasiphon from Madagascar gives gigantic Bauhinia-like flowers. It is a deciduous large shrub to small tree with glossy dark leaves. It bears scented flowers at night, throughout the warmer months up to 20 cm wide or more. The show starts as it gets dark, and then petals will fall apart in pieces, 2-4 hours after dawn, when the sun warms up them. It takes harsh conditions and it can be tried outdoors in warmer mediterranean conditions. Four years old plants can bloom in large pots of 40-50 cm !

We offer a potted tree, about 40-70 cm tall, in a 16 cm pot, at least one year old from seed.  It deciduous to cool or drought and naturally shed leaves in winter to spring.
