This is the most cold-tolerant species in its genus. Clinostigmas are quintessentially tropical palms from the ever-wet slopes of the Pacific Islands, with very long crownshafts and arching leaves with very exotic drooping segments. Nevertheless this Clinostigma savoryanum is native to the Liukiu islands in Southern Japan, at the same latitude where we find the Canary Islands (!). It takes cool winters, hot summers and even light short frosts much better than any other Clinostigma. It is grown by many collectors in California and it is a must to try if you collect palms in a warm Meditarrean climate.

We offer a rather large plant, about 80-100 cm tall
