Cascabela is an evergreen shrub or small tree with thin, glossy leaves, formerly called Thevetia peruviana,It is often called "yellow oleander" because of its closeness to Nerium oleander. It produces long funnel-shaped sometimes-fragrant yellow flowers, in few-flowered terminal clusters. Besides the typic yellow form, there are also white- and orange-flowered garden cultivars.

Cultivation of Thevetia

Thevetia is easy to grow in Warm Mediterranean to Tropical conditions. It only stands takes short, light frost, but it responds very well to pruning so it can be easily reduced in size and wintered indoors. Thevetia tolerates most soils and is drought tolerant.
