The Australian Baobab, or Boab, is the only species existing outside of Africa and Madagascar. It is found in Northern Australia and grows into a huge bottle tree. Much like most of its relatives, it can be kept small as a large bonsai. Adansonia gregorii is deciduous, resting in the cooler months. It makes a nice caudex when grown in smaller pots. On the other hand, it can grow 50-80 cm a year if placed in huge pots or grown in the ground in tropical countries.
