This is a beautiful, frost-hardy shrub that gives a wild, exotic touch to any garden. Abutilon megapotamicum is native to Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay, with showy pendulous flowers produced almost throughout the year. These have a red calyx and a glossy yellow corolla, they hang from horizonatal branches in a very ornamental way, like chinese lanterns.

Abutilon megapotamicum is very tolerant to different soils and climates and it thrives outdoors from the UK to the Subtropics.
