This Caribbean Hohenbergia has wide leaves that turn red in cool winters. Inflorescences are pendulous, ornamental, long-lived, ending up with white and blue fruits.

It is a good candidate for growing in Mediterranean climates, because it is endemic to Cuba and it is widespread on the hills of the Northernmost part of the island, where winters get quite a few cold shots.
