This giant-leaved aroid is considered a holy grial by those who love exotic foliage. It was called Anthurium salgarense until 2019, when it was split out of the species salgarense as it was described as a new species on its own. Anthurium decipiens is the one of the most attractive of the large-leaved Anthuriums, with sensational dark-green leaves, glossy and bullate (bumpy). It comes from the Tatamá massif on the western side of the Colombian Andes, in wet montane forest at 1300-2000 m. This still-rare beauty is surprisingly easy to grow, since it is found in a wide range of altitudes and there it grows in shade, often in "unilateral illumination", but also occasionally in full sun. We offer stout, well rooted plants, which are about 50-70 cm tall.
