Pure beauty! Atro-viridis means dark-green in Latin, and so are the leaves, but hey are also cute, with wide leaflets and a red margin. They are also all-red below and the petiole has red blotches. The inflorescence is a beauty too, very upright with a cream-white spathe.

The leaf of this species is one of the most beautiful in the genus, with unmistakeable colours. It is deep dark green with a pink red margin and a lovely ornamental shape. It produces a cream-coloured inflorescence with a thin, tall spadix.

This amorpho is native to Central-North Thailand, where it grows in crevices, among limestone boulders. For this reason, the tuber in this species grows deep and so it needs tall pots in cultivation.
