Amorphophallus albus is an easy-to-grow species of voodoo lily, native to the Yunnan Province of China. Leafstalks are mottled in grey spots, and leaves are glossy. The inflorescence is ivory-white and it is produced in spring, just as the new leaf emerges. +
It reproduces readily through rhizomatous offsets, so it will soon fill the pot or form a patch in your garden.
This "dwarf white voodoo lily" is one of the cold-hardiest in the genus Amorphophallus. Leaves are damaged by frost but buried corms will take quite a few degrees of frost. It is also more resistant than other species to wet cold soils and will grow in areas with cool summers. Nevertheless it grows better if planted in well-draining soils. Mature corms can attain 7 - 10cm. Dormant corms can be stored dry out of the soil at room temperature.
We ship a corm of 4-5 cm diameter, it will bloom in about 1 year. It will be shipped dormant and leafless or in moist sphagnum if growing.
