Supreme cold-hardy hybrid of the outrageously beautiful Androlepis skinneri and the robust frost-hardy Aechmea distichantha. This intergeneric hybrid is a winner, with androlepis-pink leaves that become very colourful in the cooler months. and all the stoutness of his father Aechmea distichantha. This plant was registered in 2003 but it is probably much older and was obtained maybe 40 years earlier.
