This pack includes "almogrote", coriander "mojo" and red hot "mojo". Almogrote is a pâté made of cured goat cheese very typical from the island of La Gomera. It is used as a starter spread on bread, toasts, potatoes, etc. The almogrote Guachinerfe contains cured cheese, garlic, chillies, vegetal oil and salt. The mojos are one of the most popular traditional sauces in the Canarian cuisine, which go with many traditional dishes such as wrinkled potatoes (papas arrugadas), fish, meat, "gofio" or simply dipped with bread. Red hot mojo prepared with red pepper, vegetal oil, garlic, salt, red chilli, cumin, vinegar and spices. There is also coriander mojo prepared with coriander, vegetal oil, garlic, salt, green chilli and cumin. The three sauces are concentrated and can be diluted adding oil as desired. The Canarian mojos Guachinerfe has been awarded with the Alhondiga prizes in 1998, 1999 and 2000 and the awards of the FAT in 2000 and 2002. |
