Frost-hardy desert palm with thick and stiff, silvery leaves. Trithrinax campestris is a clumping palm to 2-5 m (6-16 ft) tall, native to semi-arid areas of Argentina and Uruguay. Trunks are covered by an intricate network of long, stout spines, resulting from the woody fibers of the leaf bases. Leaves are very thick, being the thickest of all palms, and stiff, silvery-blue. Incredibly hardy palm, resistant to heat, frost and drought. It does well in Northern Latitudes. The size of this plant is: h= 20-40 cm - Cont. 20 cm - 3 years. |
