Beautiful new Trachycarpus with bold green leaves, silvery underside, with numerous segments and sturdy green petioles. It grows on grassy or rocky slopes around 2000 m (6500 ft) elevation, in India, in the northeastern states of Nagaland and Manipur and from neighboring Burma. Its taxonomic status is still unclear as it is somehow related to the Chinese Trachycarpus princeps, and to T. oreophilus from Thailand. It is probably tolerant to hard frosts and suitable for growing in cold Europe. The size of this plant is: h= 20-40 cm - Cont. 12 cm. |
