Popular subtropical palm with plumose leaves. Syagrus romanzoffiana has a very tropical appearance while it resists to moderate frosts. It is a beautiful, solitary palm with grey ringed trunk and large plumose dark green leaves with floppy arching segments, arranged in many directions. Adult palms produce impressive inflorescences of yellow white flowers, followed by attractive yellow-orange fruits. It is native to forests and savannas of Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay.
