Cold-tolerant pinnate palm collected in the Kermadec Islands, by New Zealand. It has a large, swollen crownshaft, with upright leaves rising like a shuttlecock with wide, light green leaflets give it a beautiful and distinctive appearance. It was intially described as a separate species, Rhopalostylis cheesemanii in 1916. Later it was included in Rhopalostylis baueri but it is still shows differences relevant to horticolture. This form makes a very good interior plant, tolerating low light well. The size of this plant is: h= 40-60 cm - Cont. 12 cm. |
