A "new" frost hardy feather palm, native to the Andes, succeeding in Mediterranean and warm temperate climates. It is native to the dry interandean sandstone ravines of the mountains of Bolivia. to over 3000 m (9850 ft). The small fruited variety P. torallyi var. microcarpa reaches smaller dimensions. The seeds are very slow to germinate and take 1-3 years. Canarius offers stron, thickly rooted young palms. The size of this plant is: h= 60-80 cm - Cont. 12 cm. |
