The famous Oil Palm used in commercial agriculture to produce of palm oil. Elaeis guineensis is a large solitary palm with dark, plumose, pinnate leaves. Originally native to west Africa, now it is now planted througout the world tropics. It grows in tropical and subtropical climates as it does not stand frost but t is very easy to grow and can be kept in a pot for years. It is fast growing in hot summer weather. The size of this plant is: h= 40-60 cm - Cont. 20 cm - 4 years. |
