Colorful feather palm, with red-maroon new leaves and bright orange crownshaft. Areca vestiaria is native to wet forests of Indonesia. It is a highly ornamental feather palm with bright orange crownshaft. Trunks can be solitary or clusterd and each is supported by stilt roots. This is the greatly desired form which produces red to maroon new leaves before fading to green after a few weeks. It is sensitive to cold, it is best suited to warmer climates. It can be grown in pots and kept in greenhouse conditions or as a house plant as long as it is kept warm and humidi. The size of this plant is: h= 20-40 cm - Cont. 12 cm. |
