An extremely robust new species described in 1998, endemic to Miquihuana in Tamaulipas, Mexico to about 2300 m. Juvenile plants show neat, rigid rosettes with narrow, strictly upright green leaves with widely separated marginal prickles and tufts of bright fibers on the tips. Over time, Dasylirion miquihuanensis can achieve massive trunk growth, becoming 1 to 2 m (3-6 ft) tall and having a crown of about 3 m (9 ft) wide! The size of this plant is: h= 20-40 cm - Cont. 12 cm - 2 years. |
