Robust green Encephalartos, native to the mountains of Malawi and Mozambique. It grows in full sun or semi-shade, in a wide range of habitats, including rocky outcrops, forest-covered deep, rich soils and savanna, exposed to annual grass fires. Encephalartos gratus is easy and fast growing, tolerant of wet or dry condition. Drainage is essential, as for most cycads. It is highly endangered in habitat and protected with CITES. Our plants do have legal permits because seeds were collected from documented cultivated plants! The size of this plant is: h= 50-60 cm. Pot size is: 16 x 22 cm |
