Agave desmettiana cv. Joe Hoak

This is a new variegated selection with unreal colours. So far, few plants reached Europe and Canarius is proud to offer this novelty. This variegated type has a particular pattern of variegation and leaves are jade-green with yellow stripes and some green on the margins. Some stripes are so pale you can see the light passing through the leaf. Some other people describe it as "a frosted white overlay to yellow-edged leaves". It was originally distributed by Hoak's Nursery in Miami and it is still an expensive novelty. It probably originated from the spiny form of Agave desmettiana, formerly known as Agave meridensis. Agave desmettiana 'Joe Hoak' is very easy to grow and loves warm weather with regular, spaced, waterings. It takes light frosts and should be lightly shaded in Summer in the hottest Mediterranean Countries.

The size of this plant is: 12-16 cm diameter, with roots, but bare-rooted.
