Popular fruit from the Caribbean and surrounding areas with pinkish skin, embossed with markings forming a network. It is now widespread in India too. The flavor of the fruit is sweet and pleasant, but it is less cultivated than the widespread A. cherimola. Some trees give bad-tasting fruits, but we get the scions for grafting from a good-tasting tree!

The tree can reach up to 8 m in height, leaves are smooth, pinted, about 10 cm long and they are shed in winter, when the tree is resting.
